President's Day is coming up in a couple of weeks, so we wanted to share some tips on how to stand out to your customers.
Leverage Local
Most people have Presidents' Day off. That offers you more potential customers to connect with. If you have a brick-and-mortar location, encourage people to come into your store by offering in-store only promotions in honor of Presidents' Day (which falls on February 18th this year).
If your business is only online, that's okay. Highlight your business's offerings and provide details about your Presidents' Day specials.
Play to the holiday
Customers are inundated with Presidents' Day offers, so don't be afraid to get creative in order to stand out. For example, Presidents' Day commemorates George Washington and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays – so why not send out an email to your customers inviting them to a "birthday bash"? Or offer customers a discount based on the Presidents who appear on paper money.
Note: Creating a sense of urgency for the customer often boosts sales, so limited-time, one-day offers are the way to go.
Reward word-of-mouth
Encouraging positive word-of-mouth is an important part of promoting your business, as people trust their fellow shoppers' opinions and recommendations. Customers love sharing great experiences and deals as much as they enjoy the shopping itself, so consider rewarding customers who shop on Presidents' Day. Offer them a discount on their next purchase, on the condition that they refer a new customer. As well as encouraging repeat business, this also generates awareness. |
